Joe Paterno wrapped up his weekly teleconference saying twice, to two different writers, that he won’t discuss the status of defensive tackle Abe Koroma and defensive end Maurice Evans.
The two are not listed on the depth chart, which, at this point in the week signals they aren’t playing Saturday vs. Temple (1-2).
Paterno did say that Mike Lucian may go on Saturday after tweaking his ankle against Syracuse last weekend. Lucian is listed as “probable” on the team depth chart. Lucian was moved over to defensive tackle to make up for some depth problems on the line last week.
Paterno, as he does for most opponents, had high praise for Al Golden and Temple, calling them “the best team we’ve played so far this year.”
Laugh, but he’s probably right. Temple has narrowly lost two games they should have won, including a hail mary dagger agaisnt Buffalo and an overtime loss to UConn.
Temple returns all starters from a year ago, they have experience and they are playing much better defensively (outside of that last ditch effort by Buffalo on Saturday) than they have in the past.
Paterno compared Owls quarterback and former PSU recruit Adam DiMichele to Oregon State’s Lyle Moevao saying that DiMichele is Temple’s “leader and he runs the show,” adding later that he “creates tempo.”
